The photo was taken on a cloudy day in May 2009 in the Clos Normand (walled garden) section of Monet's Garden in Giverny, France.

Beautiful photo! I love all the beautiful colors.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to Monet's gardens, but this really makes me want to visit them. No wonder he painted so beautifully, with such inspiration surrounding him.
ReplyDeleteGreat entry for the contest, too!
Exceptional Impressionist artist and gardener. Monet considered himself a gardener first with a reciprocal relationship between his art and garden.A superb landscape 'architect' in his own right, layering texture, form and jockeying the color until picture perfect. Much admired.
ReplyDeleteCameron,
ReplyDeleteSure is a delightful place to create in. I wonder what it looked like in Monet's day?
Just beautiful. I would love to go there. Carla
ReplyDeleteI missed this garden when we were in France~I wasn't in charge of the schedule then! It's really a lovely shot~I have always enjoyed your photos of this garden and others around Paris~gail
ReplyDeleteGood luck, I reckon you have a really good chance with that one.
ReplyDeleteI do this for fun, not a competitive person. I'd love to go back to Monet's garden in summer, although May was fabulous.
